God, I remeber when this place used to be the Elk's Grill. My family has been taking me here since I was a kid. I was quite surpised and to see the place has been transformed into a Caribbean restaurant!
We went last Saturday night for drinks. It was perfect as it was a hot summer night; the Calypso band and the open-air seating made for nice tropical vibe.
Drinks here were great! Killer Mojito and margaritas; potent, albeit a little pricey($12) ea. TJ has one of the most comprehensive tequila list I've seen around this area. We opted for a flight of 3 which consisted of a blanco, respasado, and anejo ($28)..all bartender's choice.
The decor and ambiance is pretty awesome; reminiscent of a Cuban restaurant somewhere in Miami Beach. Lots of tropical plants, white table cloths, Caribbean bric-a-brac all over, and "jammin" island-inspired tunes playing out to the street.
I have not yet tried the food yet, so this reveiw is only for the bar, drinks, and ambiance -- which was pretty cool. Will definitely be back to have a meal real soon!
Had dinner there last night for my birthday and it was delicious I would highly recommend the beef satay and the jerk chicken salad everything was cooked to perfection and it has a very calming atmosphere will be going back again and again.
Tequilla Jacks is proud to host several local businesses in the area for company partys. If you have an event or meeting then give us a call or come to our restaurant to get an inquiry. One recent company that we had was an apartment cleaning service in NYC that held a managment wide event.
